Dr. Troy Bishop, M.D.
Primary Care and Internal Medicine
Dr. Troy W. Bishop was born and has lived his entire life in Ohio. He is a board-certified internal medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience. He earned his undergraduate degree at Youngstown State University before going on to earn his doctorate at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) in 1994. He completed his residency at Summa Health System in Akron after which he served as a physician in the United States Air Force.
After serving in the military Dr. Bishop worked at Summa Health System as a core faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency from 1999 to 2017. At this time he was awarded the distinction of Master Teacher by the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Physicians. After spending much of his career in educating resident physicians Dr. Bishop decided to transition to a more typical medical practice where the majority of his focus would be on the care of his patients. Dedication to patient centered care is his medical passion.
